Minister facing sex charges scheduled for October trial
QUEEN CITY, Mo. —
A local preacher accused of molesting an underage boy over a period of years is now set to go on trial this fall.
George Bradburn, 69, of Queen City, ormerly a pastor at Queen City Christian Church, is scheduled to go on trial on October 12 and 13, 2017, in Knox County Circuit Court in Edina on a change of venue from Schuyler County.
When we first brought you this story a year ago, Bradburn was facing just one count of First-Degree Statutory Sodomy-Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Person Less than 14 Years Old.
Since that time, 13 more counts of the same charge have been added.
The pastor is accused of engaging in sex acts with the boy starting when the victim was approximately nine years old.
Investigators say Bradburn befriended the boy when the youngster started spending time at the church helping out with various duties, like cleaning.
Authorities said that while they were interviewing Bradburn, the minister admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the victim approximately 50 times over a five-year period.
The pastor told investigators the incidents took place at the Bradburn residence in Queen City.
Bradburn remains in custody in the Adair County Jail.
