Missouri Department of Transportation is winter ready
The Missouri Department of Transportation work all year round to make sure they are ready for winter.
MoDOT had their annual winter drill early in November and just in time for the northeast Missouri region's first snowfall in early December.
In the days before a winter snow storm affects the region, MoDOT stays up to date on the latest weather information and makes sure crews and people behind the scenes are prepared.
"We have people that manage our traveler information map that listen to the radios and are in contact with our people in the field. They update it as soon as conditions change. They're a lot of people to really thank for the job they have done," said MoDOT District Engineer.
MoDOT wants to make sure motorists always plan according to the weather and before a winter storm hits.
