A longtime Kirksville lawyer is no longer allowed to practice law in the state of Missouri.
Documents from the Missouri Supreme Court state that effective January 8th of this year Kirksville attorney Rick Jackson is disbarred, and his license to practice law in the Show-Me State is canceled.
A court official told KTVO Friday, a complaint of some sort was filed against Jackson, and since Jackson did not respond to the complaint, as required by law, he was disbarred.
Court papers state that there is probable cause to believe Jackson is guilty of professional misconduct.
Officials said details of the original complaint are not part of the public record since Jackson did not file a response to that complaint.
