Missouri's â??Free Fishing Daysâ?? are fast approaching

The Missouri Department of Conservation invites any new or inexperienced fishers to get hooked on fishing during Free Fishing Days.

The state of Missouri has millions of acres of surface water, most of which provides for great fishing.

So coming up on June 7th and 8th anyone can fish in the Show Me State - no permit required.

Conservation officials remind residents that other regulations will still be in effect.

â??Well just beware of the regulations on those areas even though you do not need a permit you still need to adhere to the regulations for length limit regulations and harvest regulations,â?? said Mike Anderson, Missouri Department of Conservation Fisheries Biologist.

Some private fishing areas may still require permits and trespass laws will remain in effect on private property.
