Missouri's Youth Alcohol Mobilization is underway
With prom and graduation season in full swing, the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be out in full force as well on all major Missouri highways.
From now through May 13, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is taking part in the Youth Alcohol Mobilization Event.
With all the social events and parties high school and college students will be attending over the next few weeks, there is the bigger chance of having more impaired drivers on the roads. The Missouri State Highway Patrol wants to keep them off the road to decrease alcohol related crashes and deaths.
"This time of year is one that is very worrying for us. Certainly we want the kids to have a good time at these celebrations , but we also want them to be safe. That's the key. Obviously mixing that with alcohol is very dangerous," said Sergeant Brent Bernhardt of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Bernhardt also reminds you that underage drinking is illegal.
If you ever see a drunk driver on the road, the Missouri State Highway Patrol urges you to contact them on *55 on your cell or your local law enforcement.
