An Ottumwa man charged with first degree murder will have to wait a little longer to have his day in court.
The murder trial of Brandon J. Seim was scheduled to begin this morning in a Wapello County Courthouse, but online court records indicate that the trial has been continued until February 10th of next year.
Seim was arrested on November 27, 2011 after Ottumwa Police responded to a report of a stabbing at residence on Division Street.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Andy Madren, 34, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Madren died later that day at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
Seim has been in custody since his arrest on $500,000 cash only bond.
If convicted, Seim faces a mandatory life sentence.
