Operation Christmas Child is officially a success.
Adults and kids were busy Monday morning at the Rehoboth Baptist Church in Kirksville as they were packing up shoe boxes containing clothes, school supplies, bibles, and toys that kids will receive for Christmas.
Last year about 1,200 boxes were collected but this year came out strong with over 1,300 boxes.
Coordinators thank the northeast Missouri community for opening their hearts and giving more this time around.
"We do have a lot of good people out there and it makes me feel good. I sometimes feel like I don't reach out as much as I could. But the boxes are coming in and that's what we need," said Operation Christmas Child Northeast Missouri Region Coordinator Joanne Louder.
The church filled about 85 cartons filled with shoe boxes.
The boxes will be sent to Columbia and then they are shipped to a processing center in Minneapolis.
The boxes then go to children in countries such as Albania, Brazil, Colombia, and Haiti.
