More teams needed for local Relay for Life event
A local Heartland community needs support once again this year to help fight for cancer.
The Knox County Relay for Life will hold their annual event on Friday, June 13. The event will be taking place at the town square in Edina.
This year's theme is "Scare Away Cancer."
The committee has been doing relay for life in the town for the last 14 years and it has always proven to be a success.
"Knox County people are great. They support us. Without them, we would not be able to do this. We just completed our annual soup supper and did a chocolate tasting this year for a fundraiser. I think we are off to a great start," said Co-Chair Betty Chair.
This year's goal for the committee is to raise a little over $35,000.
They are asking for more teams to sign up. So far there are only 7 teams participating in this year's event.
