A northeast Missouri couple has lost everything in a morning house fire.

Queen City Fire Chief Carl Snider says the blaze on Ridge Road southwest of Queen City was called in around 7 Tuesday morning.

Snider says the Jeff and Beverly Diltz home was almost burned to the ground by the time it was discovered by one of their neighbors.

The double wide mobile home is a total loss.

Snider says the residents were not home when the fire happened.

We are told that Jeff and Beverly Diltz are staying with family.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation at this time.

Chief Snider says it was likely accidental, but an investigator from the Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office will come to the scene to look into the cause.

Firefighters were on the scene battling the fire and the bitterly cold temperatures for about three hours.
