Morning vehicle crash sends Memphis woman to hospital
A Heartland woman was transported to the hospital Friday morning following a vehicle crash.
Emergency crews were called around 7:45 a.m. to the scene of the crash on Highway 11, close to six miles east of Kirksville.
Authorities say the car ran off the side of the roadway and when the driver overcorrected, it ran off the other side of the road, hit a highway sign and overturned.
According to the online traffic crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver, 65-year-old Judith Sharp of Memphis, Missouri, fell asleep before the crash.
Sharp suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.
