Mother Nature prevents people from making a splash
The rain and storms from Saturday morning caused some events across the Heartland to be rained out.
It even prevented people from attending the grand opening day of the outdoor pool at the Aquatic Center in Kirksville.
Originally, there was a good chance that the opening day of the pool would be delayed due to a leak that was discovered earlier in the week after the water levels went down when the city began filling the pool for this year's season.
On Thursday, Assistant City Manager Melanie Smith confirmed with KTVO that they had found the location of the leak in the outdoor pool that will allow it to open as expected. Unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans.
Not to worry everyone, the outdoor pool at the Aquatic Center will be open all summer long through mid-August. It will be open Monday through Saturday from 1-7 p.m. and Sundays 1-5 p.m.
