Motorcyclists raise money to help local community
Campers and motorcyclists came from all over to Macon County this weekend to help a local community.
The 2nd annual Chariton River Rally Festival has been going since Friday in South Gifford and wrapped up Sunday morning with a church service. The service was lead by the Bondage Breakers Kirksville Chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association.
The festival brought out about more than 50 motorcyclists to camp out at the community park and participate in activities such as a poker run, a silent auction, games, and also live music and lots of food.
For organizers, this was a great year and they know every year it will only get bigger.
"It makes me feel really good. I'm very impressed with how the community has come together and the support I have got. I'm just extremely impressed with that," said Event Coordinator Jessica Wobken.
All the proceeds from this weekend's festival will go towards the community's improvement projects.
Organizers say they will return with the third annual event next year.
