When was the last time you filled up your tank?

You probably noticed prices falling and thought it was too good to be true.

In Ottumwa, gas is down to $2.96 per gallon.

That's lower than in Kirksville, where a gallon of gas is $2.99, and it turns out, prices may just keep going down.

According to AAA, nationwide, the price per gallon of regular gas is about $3.35. Thatâ??s the lowest level itâ??s been since January.

That's not even the best part. Some estimates expect that average to fall all the way down to the $3.10-$3.20 per gallon range by Christmas.

After a jump at the beginning of the year, gas prices have been falling for the most part, especially since July.

Crude traded at $100 in July, and prices have been going down since then.

Gas and oil tend to move in lock-step, and the government says oil prices are declining because we have plenty on hand.

Demand has also dropped due in part to the impending winter season and the weak economy.
