Movie deal for "Barefoot Bandit"
The "Barefoot Bandit has signed a movie deal with 20th Century Fox for just over a $1 million, but he won't see any of the dough.The money will be used to help repay the victims of Colton Harris-Moore after his crime spree that ranged from the San Juan Islands in Washington to the Bahamas.Harris-Moore, 20, gained international attention by stealing five planes, more than a dozen cars, several boats and broke into homes and businesses before his July 2010 arrest.
Harris-Moore was thought to have paid the Heartland a visit when a car he was believed to have stolen was found in Pella, Iowa. Then, a car from the Ottumwa, Iowa Water and Hydro department was stolen. That car was found later that week between Dallas City and Niota, Illinois.Shortly after, The Burlington Hawkeye reported that a truck was stolen from the Southeast Iowa Regional Airport in Burlington and later found near Danville, Illinois, some 220 miles away.Colton Harris-Moore faces up to a decade behind bars.
