Mt. Pleasant shooting likely to be ruled accidental
Mt. Pleasant, Iowa —
The shooting of a Henry County, Iowa, man will most likely be ruled an accident.
According to Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee, his department became aware of a shooting on Friday afternoon.
That's when the Henry County Health Center reported male subject had been dropped off at the ER with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred in the 1600 grid of Wapello Drive, but was accidental.
No threats to the public are present at this time, and the identity of the victim is being withheld for investigative purposes.
