Muddy fun raises money for Macon Jaycees
Itâ??s messy, it's muddy, but it's all for a great cause.
More than a dozen people of all ages enjoyed the Macon Jaycees 5-K Mud Run.
There were two age groups, and organizers had the kids go first. They ran through mud puddles, crawled underneath tough ropes, and managed to complete a full obstacle course.
Organizers say today's event was raising money to help the community.
â??The Macon Jaycees put together the mud run as a general fundraiser to put money in our general funds so we can help organizations or individuals in the community,â?? said Macon Jaycees management vice president, Kyla Wilcox. â??We decided to do a mud run because we have always had a mud run that we've don with vehicles and this sounded like a lot more fun.
The Macon Jayceeâ??s mission is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.
Itâ??s a group of young men and women that join together to improve their lives and their communities. Their goal is to provide leadership training through community service.
