New Assistant City Manager completes first day
Kirksville's new Assistant City Manager has completed his first day on the job.
Ashley Young replaces Angie Whisnant as Assistant City Manager.
Young, the former Director of Communications at Complete Family Medicine in Kirksville, was selected out of 47 applicants to fill the vacant position.
The new Assistant City Manager spent Monday touring city departments and meeting city officials.
The role of the Assistant City Manager is to not only be an administrator, but also a direct link between city government and residents of Kirksville.
Young is already heavily involved in the Kirksville community, serving on the board of Kirksville Regional Economic Development Incorporated and being a member of the Kirksville Kiwanis Club.
