New owners, new plans for former il Spazio building

There are new owners and new plans for the former il Spazio building in Downtown Kirksville.

Steve and Judy Taylor of Kirksville bought the vacant building from the Bank of Kirksville a little over two weeks ago.

Taylor and some of his crews have spent the past few days clearing unwanted items out of building at the corner of Main and Washington Streets just off the Kirksville square.

The structure was most recently home to Opie's Steakhouse and Pool Hall, which went out of business the middle of last year.

Taylor says he has big plans for a new business at the location, but he doesn't want to disclose those plans just yet.

He told KTVO he is hoping to be ready to open the doors this summer.

Taylor says he's shooting for July.
