One Heartland group wants to make sure Kirksville kids get active over the summer months.
The Kirksville Women of Today has established a new Fee Assistance Program.
The program will go through the city's parks and recreation department.
Children ages 17 and under can apply up to two $25 scholarships to be applied to any recreation or aquatic activity.
"We want to make it a program where every year we can help more and more kids in the Kirksville community. Also to serve as a way that there's individuals in the city who would like to donate to the cause they can also submit money to funnel into that program," said Nancy Asher of Kirksville Women of Today.
If the child gets two scholarships one must be towards swimming lessons.
Applications for the fee program are available by visiting the Kirksville Aquatic Center or the city's website.
Applications are due by April 25.
