Thu, 29 May 2014 00:16:02 GMT — The Fairfield Community School District now has a new superintendent. The decision was made at the last school board meeting. There were originally over 60 applicants for the job, but that pool was narrowed down to 11. Five candidates were then interviewed and the final decision came down to two individuals: Centervilleâ??s Superintendent Dr. Tony Ryan and Dr. Laurie Noll from the Burlington Community School District. FCSDâ??S board secretary and business manager says Dr. Noll had the practical experience the district was ultimately looking for. "Well they had differing experiences and at this time," Kim Sheets said. "We thought that we needed an instructional leader she was chosen for her expertise in the job she's doing as instructional leader and curriculum director at Burlington." Dr. Noll will take office in July. The current superintendent, Dr. Art Sathoff will be the next superintendent in the Indianola Community School District.
