A brand new, state of the art, energy saving Walmart opened Wednesday morning with much anticipation in Centerville.
The old store, located on the north side of town, was over 20 years old and employed about 100 employees. The new store, located on the south side of Centerville will employ over 160 employees, something store manager Brad Henderson was very excited about.
â??It has been a long time coming. 21 years for our old building and just to have the newest and best facility and to be able to offer a wider variety of products for the customers at everyday low prices will really help them save money. Today we will be giving away six, $1000 grants for the community, just for the grand opening. We do a lot of different things not only for our local, but our surrounding communities as well; Childrenâ??s Miracle Network, different things like that throughout the year. We help support the local schools and just a lot of variation of things to help support the local and surrounding communities,â?? Henderson said.
Customers were already lined up outside of the doors when KTVO arrived early Wednesday morning. Many were waiting in line since 4:30 in the morning.
