105 West Main, Lockridge Iowa

The shooting of a Lockridge, Iowa man will not result in any criminal charges.

David Bittner, 46, died on September 4 at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield as the result of a shotgun wound to the stomach.

Earlier that day, law enforcement officers had responded to a 911 call from a residence on West Main in Lockridge. Upon their arrival, they found Bittner unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The investigation into the incident lasted three weeks and on Wednesday, Jefferson County Attorney Timothy Dille released a statement saying that investigation determined that the shooting was justified and that his office would not press charges against any individual at this time.
