      No foul play in Ottumwa toddler death

      There is nothing suspicious about the death of an Ottumwa toddler.

      The Ottumwa Police Department said that the investigation into the death one-year old Keenan Rockhold revealed the child died of natural causes.

      In January, OPD received a report of a unresponsive child at an in-home day care on Ottumwa's south side.

      An autopsy by the State Medical Examiner's office recently determined the cause of death as pneumonia.

      On January 22, 2014, the Ottumwa Police Department received a report of an unresponsive child at an in home daycare located at 524 Osceola, Ottumwa, IA. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Keenan Rockhold, age 1 year, had died. Rockhold was sent to the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner, in Ankeny, IA for an autopsy.

      On March 26th, 2014, the State Medical Examiner completed the autopsy and determined that the cause of death was acute adenovirus interstitial pneumonia. The manner of death was natural.
