A Heartland woman won't serve any prison time for stealing thousands from the Little League.

Catherine Schafer, 52, learned her sentence on Monday.

The sentence is part of a plea deal Schafer agreed to in May.

She was given a 10 year suspended prison sentence and will be on probation for five years.

She has also agreed to make restitution.

Schafer was arrested in October of 2016 after it was discovered she had stolen nearly $55,000.

She took the money from two separate entities. $35,000 came from Little League accounts and the remainder was taken from the treasurer of the Little League.

Jefferson County Attorney Tim Dille told KTVO in May that Schafer had agreed to make restitution.
