Mon, 14 Apr 2014 23:38:48 GMT — The North Quincy Ave. reconstruction project resumes this week. Work began last year and is set to re-open and continue through the spring. Construction will go from Theater Drive out to the city limits. Quincy will be closed to all traffic north of Theater Drive. According to Public Information Officer Tom Rodgers, there will be no through traffic to or from Blackhawk Road and rural areas, but access to the movie theater and neighboring businesses will be available at all times during construction. "We're talking about a full-depth reconstruction of the streets, so essentially what you see there as street, being removed and replaced and of course along with all the curbing and the shoulders go along with that, so fairly major project, and it's a busy spot through there due to the businesses in the area and also kind of the access out into the county along Blackhawk Road," Rodgers said. Next upon the project's completion, Quincy Avenue will feature wider and improved turning lanes.
