Novinger students "horse around" to raise money for After-prom
A few students and members of the Novinger community now have some new bruises.
It's all because of a few rowdy animals in Novinger High School's annual game of donkey-ball. The event is sponsored by the Junior class as a fundraiser for After-prom.
The High School gym was packed Wednesday night as players mounted their donkeys and did their best to play ball. That's no easy feat when all passing and shooting must be done while riding a donkey. Never the less, it's still an event students look forward to every year.
â??I'm looking to have a good time and hopefully winning the tournament. This is my first year though,â?? said Novinger Junior Eric Reardon.
Four teams competed in the tournament, but the â??Country Bumpkinsâ?? walked away the winners. They won the final game against â??The Studsâ?? eight to six.
Organizers also held a raffle and auctioned off members of the junior class for extra profits. Now the Novinger students have Prom and After-Prom to look forward to on April 26th.
