Wed, 14 May 2014 13:34:57 GMT — State and local officials are working on a pilot program for a mass transit system in Oskaloosa. The Oskaloosa Herald reports the bus program has secured some funding for at least two years. City officials say they will look into other resources to make the program permanent if there's enough ridership. The state Department of Transportation has outlined a plan but not a timeline of when the project would be completed. The proposed bus route would run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dylan Mulfinger, management analyst for the city of Oskaloosa, says plans to move forward with the project could happen this summer.
