Macon community participates in annual Oktoberfest
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
Community members in Macon welcomed the start of a new season through Immaculate Conception Schools annual Oktoberfest.
Volunteer and parent of the school, Michele Snider has been involved in Oktoberfest for about 6 years.
Snider's daughter attends Immaculate Conception School.
Snider says she has seen the event grow into something not only members of the school participate in, but its something that attracts the entire Macon community.
She says her favorite part of the event is being able to interact with people in the community she has not seen in a while.
Snider says its a great way to celebrate the school and also give back to the community.
But Snider also says Oktoberfest would not be possible without the help of the kids who attend the Catholic school.
They work really hard for this too. They, each one, volunteer during this time and they also sell raffle tickets throughout the community which is a big fundraiser too for it.
