One half of father-son drug duo pleads guilty

An Ottumwa man had pleaded guilty to felony drug charges.

According to online court records Phillip Anthony Cave JR, 31 entered the plea to a single charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.

His sentencing is scheduled for September 26.

The charge is a Class "D" felony and carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

Cave JR. and his father Phillip Wayne Cave SR. were arrested on July 9, 2013 after an investigation headed by the Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force recovered marijuana at a residence on Ottumwa street in Ottumwa.

Court records indicate that the elder cave has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a January 2014 trial.
