Organization makes large donation to Genesis House

Knox County Right to Life donated $5,000 to the Genesis House

It is a place where single mothers can find support and shelter. The Genesis House of Northeast Missouri in Edina is a place where women who are pregnant can live for free for several months so they can get back on their feet.

Tuesday, Knox County Right to Life donated $5,000 to the Genesis House. The money was raised through the group's baby bottle campaign, "Change for Change."

Knox County Right to Life provided churches in the county and surrounding communities with baby bottles, and the congregation members took the baby bottles home and filled them up with change and then brought them back.

â??We're very pleased to let everyone know of the generous giving,â?? said Knox County Right to Life Member Darla Lay. â??And also of the outpouring support for the Genesis House. Weâ??re very pleased to make the donation of just over $5,000.â??

Currently, the Genesis House Board is interviewing potential house parents and members hope to have the house up and running soon.
