Ottumwa residents wanting to get signed up for health care insurance under the federal Affordable Care Act are in luck.
Four to six specialists from the Ottumwa Regional Health Center will soon be trained to assist patients and their family members for applying for a coverage plan that meets their needs. According to the hospital's CEO they must first send an application to the Centers of Medicaid and Medicare Services before this training can begin.
â??It's kind of unknown territory for a lot of people and fairly unknown for us, and so we're learning how we can participate and help our community and our patients to make sure they have access and the information they need,â?? CEO Phil Noel said.
He says he is unsure of the exact timeline for the training to take place, but you can call Ottumwa Regional Health Center at anytime to speak with the financial counselor on staff at 641-684-2351.
