Ottumwa Bulldogs name homecoming king and queen
OTTUMWA, IOWA —
Ottumwa High School’s homecoming festivities are in full swing.
Earlier Wednesday evening, the school hosted its annual homecoming parade down Second Street in downtown Ottumwa. Following the parade was the coronation of this year’s homecoming king and queen.
Senior Paige Blegen won homecoming queen and Austin Brown took the title as king.
Cooper Smith is an associate teacher at the high school. He says Brown had been looking forward to this moment for quite a while.
“He is excited about it, he’s been thinking about it since last week, since it was announced. It’s definitely the cap of his year. I know he wants to thank his classmates for thinking highly enough of him to vote for him and consider him the king of the class. So, he’s really excited,” Smith said.
The Bulldog’s festivities will continue Thursday night with a talent show inside the high school. The homecoming football game will be Friday night at seven, followed by the dance.
