Ottumwa burglary investigation leads to gun arrest
Ottumwa, Iowa —
An investigation into a robbery has landed an Ottumwa man in jail on a weapons charge.
On Tuesday, officers from the Ottumwa Police Department and the Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force executed a warrant at a residence on Court Street as part of a robbery investigation.
Once inside the residence, officers found a male carrying a handgun.
He was identified as Marcus A. Jackson, 36, and was determined to be a convicted felon.
Jackson was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, a Class D felony, and a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge, a Serious Misdemeanor.
The search of the Court Street address did yield evidence in the ongoing robbery investigation.
