Ottumwa Chamber director resigns
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
The Ottumwa Area Chamber of Commerce will soon be under new leadership.
That is due to the Tuesday resignation of current director Connie Hammersly-Wilson.
Wilson announced the decision via email.
"I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve my community, members, businesses and visitors. This has been an honor and a privilege to be the executive director of this great organization," Wilson said. "The growth and development over the last three years will continue long after I am gone."
T.J. Heller also issued a statement. Heller is the CEO of Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress. The chamber falls under the jurisdiction of that umbrella organization.
"We at GOPIP wholly support Connie in her future endeavors and very much appreciate her dedication and commitment to the OACC. I personally want to thank Connie for her years of service, support, and enthusiasm for the OACC and always being a positive voice for her members. "
Heller's statement didn't offer details on an interim director or the search for a new permanent replacement.
