Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce Director says goodbye
The Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce will be saying goodbye to its Executive Director Terry McNitt on Thursday.
McNitt has been part of the Chamber for more than 12 years. He has served on the board and was president in 2005.
He became Executive Director in 2007.
McNitt said looking back on his time he is most proud of Holiday Nights â??N Lights. Just this past year, more than 16,400 people visited the lighted display.
â??I wish everybody the best and hopefully Iâ??ll see everyone around in my new position. I'm not moving. I'm moving onto something new. So it's been a pleasure. It's a great board of directors, good place for Chamber of Commerce working hard to find a new director -- feel confident that they'll keep things going with the momentum we've had. So Iâ??m proud of what Iâ??ve done. It's just time to move on,â?? McNitt said.
McNittâ??s last official day is Thursday. His advice to the next director is to make sure chamber members are taken care of and do everything to promote commerce.
