Ottumwa Community Players put on production of Arsenic and Old Lace
Friday is opening night of Arsenic and Old Lace at Ottumwaâ??s Bridge View Center.
The classic play is about a drama critic whose life is turned upside-down when he discovers two spinster aunts have poisoned their gentleman house guests and buried their bodies in the old Victorian home. The actresses were rehearing their lines dressed in costume before the show. The show begins at 7 p.m. Friday, again at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. The production is being put on by the Ottumwa Community Players. Director Bill Hornback gives us a brief synopsis of what you can expect.
â??Those ladies have a nasty habit of poisoning elderly gentlemen and burying them in the cellar,â?? Hornback said.â??Itâ??s the story of their family and some of their neighbors and how it all unfolds is just absolutely wonderful. Itâ??s a great family show, and we really enjoy putting it together.â??
Tickets to the show are $8 for students and $10 for adults. You can purchase them here.
