Ottumwa dealership to hold fundraiser for local boy with cancer
Bowling Motors and RV Sales in Ottumwa is stepping up to the plate to support a local boy with a rare form of cancer.
The young boy is four-year-old Trevor Stromgren.
His father Brian was a nurse at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He quit his job to take care of Trevor.
Randy Bowling, owner of Bowling Motors and RV Sales, first came across Trevor's story at his friend's restaurant as it held a fundraiser for the boy.
Every April, Bowling and his dealership raise money for the American Cancer Society and wanted to sponsor somebody locally this year.
And Trevor was the perfect candidate.
The Trailers for Trevor event is a two-day fundraiser with food, drinks, and entertainment provided.
"We'd just like to say that Trevor has had his battles," said Bowling. "And we'd love for people to come out, support Trevor, support the local people, and help us fight cancer."
For every trailer sold this month, the dealership will donate $100 to Trevor's family.
The event will take place this Friday, April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
