Ottumwa High School students plan to give clothes to needy

Ottumwa High School will be holding a clothing giveaway Saturday April 20th from 8 to 11 a.m. in the cafeteria.

Members of the Interact Club at Ottumwa High School are organizing a clothing giveaway.

They have collected items of clothing for all ages and sizes, including t-shirts, casual items for boys and girls and even prom dresses. In a few weeks, people will be able to come by and see what clothes they would like. Students in the Interact Club say they will be handing out bags to shoppers the day of the event and participants can take the clothes they want. Members encourage people to come early as items are available on a first-come first-serve basis.

The Interact Club is sponsored by the Ottumwa Rotary Club to encourage students to get involved in community service.

"We have quite a few clothes. It's an exciting event for the community and a good way to help the community out," OHS Interact Club member Jennifer Klodd said.

The clothing giveaway will be held in Ottumwa High School's cafeteria, Saturday April 20th from 8 to 11 a.m. The Interact Club is still accepting donations from anyone in the community who would like to contribute.
