The Ottumwa Leadership Academy is officially moved into its new home.
The space at 113 E. Main has been completely renovated as headquarters for the program and only has the final touchups left to go before it is ready for the second class of members in the fall. The building will be used for classroom time and presentations, as well as be a space for Leadership Academy members and alumni to mingle and work.
"We wanted a place where it felt very mobile and kind of organic so that if we meet in small groups, that the tables are moveable," said Hollie Tometich, Executive Director of the Ottumwa Leadership Academy. "It's just a fun atmosphere and then of course, we have a board of advisors that meets regularly, we know that there are other organizations that need a meeting room, so we wanted to have a nice facility for that as well."
The Leadership Academy is now accepting applications through August 15th for those who would like to be in the second class of participants. The program is geared towards anyone who is looking to learn more or become more involved in their community.
