Ottumwa Police interrupt burglary in progress
A southeast Iowa man is in jail following a burglary at a local business.
According to Ottumwa Police, around 12:30 Monday morning, an officer interrupted a burglary in progress at Fox Hole Firearms located at 2603 Roemer Avenue in Ottumwa.
The suspect fled the area on foot. He was caught a short time later and taken into custody.
James Edward Deevers, 29, of Ottumwa, has been charged with Third Degree Burglary and Driving Under Suspension.
Deevers is being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
