Ottumwa Police investigating robbery on Ottumwa's north side

24 year-old Bruce Darnell Pollard has been charged at the Wapello County Jail with two counts of robbery. He was already being held at the jail on a charge of robbery in the first degree for the Sonic armed robbery on March 12.


Ottumwa Police Chief Jim Clark informed KTVO Thursday that his department is investigating a robbery that took place at the Jefferson Street BP Convenience Store.

The story is located at 533 North Jefferson Street on Ottumwa's north side.

According to Chief Clark, at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Jefferson Street BP Convenience Store. Upon arrival, officers learned that a lone person had robbed the clerk at gunpoint and took an undisclosed amount of money, then fled on foot.

The investigation into the robbery is continuing.
