Ottumwa Regional Health Center begins construction on Senior Behavioral Care Center
Ottumwa Regional Health Center has started construction on a new Senior Behavioral Care Center. The 14-bed unit will be located on the third floor of the hospital in the west wing, and entails a renovation of that area.
â??We are excited to begin construction on the Senior Behavioral Care Center at ORHC,â?? said Phil Noel, CEO at ORHC. â??This is an extremely important need for our community and beyond, and we are looking forward to being able to offer a much needed service to our patient population.â??
The unit is tentatively set to open in May 2014, and will provide inpatient mental health care services in a comfortable and safe environment. The focus of the Senior Behavioral Care center will be to address the specific needs of senior aged adults.
Construction is in the initial stages and patients and guests will notice construction equipment outside of the front of the hospital. Patients and guests should not expect to experience any delays to patient care during the duration of the project.
â??This unit will help to fill a void of services in our community and as construction begins, we continue to focus on planning and implementation of the unit to ensure it will be a safe and caring environment where our patients can receive quality care,â?? said Noel.
