Phil Noel has been named as the new CEO for Ottumwa Regional Medical Center.

Officials at Ottumwa Regional Health Center announced Wednesday that Phil Noel has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer for the hospital. Mr. Noel has been serving as the Interim CEO since early August.

Ted Haas M.D., Chairman of the Hospital board, said â??We are very excited to announce that Phil Noel has accepted our offer to become the hospital CEO. Over the past few weeks it has become clear that he is the right man to lead this hospital forward. His commitments to high quality patient care, developing a strong culture of compassion and caring, and the growth of hospital services is impressive. It was the unanimous decision of our board that Phil is the right guy.â?? â??I am honored to be named as the CEO of Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Given the strong and growing medical staff and talented hospital employees, we have the chance to make this hospital a magnet for healthcare services in Southeast Iowa. I have spent the last five weeks meeting with employees, physicians, board members, and community leaders to understand the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead,â?? Noel said.

Noel added, â??Our job at the hospital is to provide compassionate care, offer a high level of clinical services, and work hard to provide peace of mind to our friends and neighbors when they come to us at challenging times. I am confident that ORHC will rise to the challenge and be a hospital that our community can be proud of.â??

Prior to serving as the Interim CEO at ORHC, Noel spent more than 25 years in hospital administration, serving as Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer for hospitals across the country. For the past ten years he has served as Chief Operating Officer for hospitals in the Baptist Health System in San Antonio, TX. He is a graduate of the Citadel with a BS in Business Administration.

Phil and his wife Connie have two grown children and are proud grandparents to the three grandchildren.
