Ottumwa School Board VP confronted by members on his Fourth OWI

The Ottumwa School Board held its first meeting since the OWI arrest of School Board Vice President, Alex Barr, earlier this month.

As KTVO previously reported, Barr was arrested Saturday, February 3, 2018, after being found passed out in his vehicle at the intersection of North Court and Third streets in Ottumwa.

Monday’s almost four-hour school board meeting ended with a sharp rebuke from Nancy Manson regarding Barr’s fourth OWI arrest.

"Alex, I am not interested in giving you a second chance," Manson declared. "Instead, I hope that your OWI acts as a wake-up call forcing you to recognize that your actions have consequences."

Barr acknowledged Manson’s remarks, but he did not publicly comment on the matter upon advice from his attorney.
