Ottumwa woman arrested on forgery, theft charges

Friday morning, Ottumwa Police arrested a woman accused of forging a doctor's signature on a stolen prescription pad.
Christine Renee Weilbrenner, 25, of Ottumwa is charged with one count of forgery, identity theft, and theft, all of which are misdemeanor offenses.
She was released from the Wapello County Jail Friday on bond.
Police say a nurse from the Southeast Iowa Kidney Care and Hypertension Clinic reported Weilbrenner to authorities.
â??This morning the Ottumwa Police and personnel from the task force executed a search warrant at 242 North Ransom Street here in Ottumwa, Iowa. As a result of the search warrant execution, a Christine Renee Weilbrenner has been charged with various charges consisting of identity theft, forgery, prohibited acts and theft in the 5th degree,â?? said Lt. Jason Bell of the Ottumwa Police Department.
Lt. Bell says the investigation is ongoing. There may be some additional charges that come to light after it wraps up within the next several days.
