An Ottumwa woman has claimed the last top prize of $30,000 available in the Iowa Lottery??s ??Word Bank?? instant-scratch game.
Joanne Stivers claimed her prize Friday at the lottery??s headquarters in Des Moines. She purchased her winning ticket at Casey??s, 1001 E. Main St., in Ottumwa.
When the last top prize is claimed in one of the Iowa Lottery??s scratch games, the game is removed from sale, so with Stivers?? claim, the $3 Word Bank game has been discontinued.
Since the lottery??s start in 1985, its players have won more than $3.1 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $1.4 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.
