Youngsters in the 'City of Bridges' were able to get their bikes fixed up free of charge, thanks to one local organization.
Members of the Ottumwa Rotary Club were at Central Park Saturday afternoon. There, they were doing safety inspections and repairs on kids bikes, free of charge.
A selection of colorful helmets were also on hand to give to the kids if they were not riding with protective head-gear.
Fixing the bikes is something that the club members do every summer, in order to help the kids and make the community safer.
"This is kind of a community event where we want to give back to the community and this is one of the ways that we thought that it would be an excellent way of doing that," said John Swarney, of the Ottumwa Rotary Club.
Rotary Club members would like to remind the community that they fix the bikes for free every summer. If you missed the chance to get your bike fixed Saturday, be on the look-out for more Rotary Club events.
