Winter weather has officially arrived in the City of Bridges, and out at Horace Mann Elementary School, there was about two-and-a-half inches of snow on Sunday.

KTVO found out what Ottumwa residents did on this first snowfall of the season here in Ottumwa.

"I went sledding with my cousin, and we played in the snow," Anthony Hamm said.

"Mainly just shoveling snow," Addie Large said.

"We're shoveling a pile to make a snow man," Emily Minella said.

The girls also shovel driveways for a pretty reasonable price. Some other kids didn't want to brave the cold, but still stayed active indoors at the Ottumwa YMCA.

The Ottumwa Public Works and the Iowa Department of Transportation were working diligently to keep the roads plowed, but some kids were still anticipating a snow day on Monday.

Anthony Hamm says in the event school is called off he will spend the day making some money shoveling driveways.
