At Tuesday night's regular council meeting, the City of Ottumwa's annual street financial report will be submitted for approval.
While the report is routine, it is important because it highlights all the work done on streets and bridges in Ottumwa over the last fiscal year, from large projects like reconstruction to small ones like patching and snow removal.
â??This report is a good snapshot of what we've done in the previous year and in this case, we can look back at about $5.1 million worth of street improvements, maitenance and repair that took place,â?? Public Information Officer Tom Rodgers said. â??So you know, it's a good way to gage where we are as far as addressing our streets, track the dollars that are being spent and see how things are growing and progressing.â??
Rodgers says some of the bigger projects completed in the past year include the Green, Garret and Lincoln Street construction, the Milner and Eisenhower Street Bridges and the late work done on Pennsylvania Ave.
