Ottumwa residents begin voting for school board

The polls will close Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Iowa residents are hitting the polls Tuesday to cast their vote for the school board elections.

The polls in Ottumwa opened up at noon.

Wapello County Auditor Kelly Spurgeon says so far they’ve gotten 250 absentee ballots, but she hopes to see more voters at the polls.

“I’m hoping with, you know, all the candidates that running for the Ottumwa School District, that we’ll have a high voter turn out. You know, so that people can get their candidate pick that they want to vote for,” Spurgeon said.

Ottumwa residents have seven school board candidates to pick from. Polls will close Tuesday at 8 p.m.
